Another day, another black man killed by the police…

On or about 8pm on July 18, 2022, in San Bernardino, California, 23-year-old Robert Adams was shot in the back and killed by police.   It’s no big deal, because we seldom go more than a week without hearing about police killing another black man.   It’s just another day in America.   Same story, different day.  It’s the police doing their job, which is to make all of us white people feel safer by culling the herd.  It’s been that way since the days of the slave patrols; when they got paid for killing Black people who tried to escape slavery. Those were the good old days!

This makes me sick, angry, disgusted and frightened for America, because we as a country have no respect for anyone whose skin is not white, and nothing but contempt and hatred for anyone whose skin is black.

If you watch the video, Robert Adams was walking around the parking lot and had what appeared to something in his right hand. Police say it was a pistol. (For the record, I’ve see white men with handguns at Walmart and lots of other public places many times, but not a single one of them has ever been summarily shot by the police).

Just before the Cops show up, and jump out of the unmarked, unidentified car, he can be seen strolling in the same direction with his hands in his pockets. The two cops jumped out of the car suddenly, brandishing guns and probably yelling. Maybe they yelled for him to put his hands up; maybe they didn't. It doesn’t matter to Robert, because within seconds, as he was running away from the police, he was shot and killed.

It looked an awful lot like a summary execution; like what we’ve all seen gangs in movies do. Drive up, jump out of the car and start shooting. Only this wasn’t the movies, and the gang was the police. Remember, these cops belong to the largest gang in America. The same gang who stood around in Uvalde, Texas for over an hour listening to children being slaughtered and did nothing. Proof positive that most cops are not brave; they are cowards armed with guns who will shoot an unarmed black man in the back for running, but won't confront a teenaged killer actively murdering young children.

Since when does running from the police justify getting shot in the back? I don't care if a man has face tattoos, gold teeth, gold chains, saggy pants or his name is Jamal or D’Andre. None of that is against the law or justification for being summarily executed. It's entirely possible that Robert Adams wasn't a nice guy; he might have been a convicted criminal engaged in criminal activity, but he didn't do anything to justify being murdered. What happened to due process? He never brandished a gun at or toward the police; he simply ran away with one of his hands in his pocket.

A lot of you say Robert should have listened to the police and just stopped; that his failure to stop somehow justifies his murder. Yet you make excuses for and defend the people who stormed the Capitol, and they didn't listen to the police and stop. Why is it that all the white people who stormed the Capitol were not shot? If those people had been black, the area would have run red with their blood. (It’s really true, I checked, and they have the same color blood as us!) On January 6, numerous police were beaten and killed by the insurrectionists, but the police never opened fire on them. Those people broke into the Capitol en masse, yelling about hanging the Vice President, and millions of lame-ass, crybaby, chicken-shit, douchebag, bigoted white people want to make excuses for them. “Wait a minute” you say, “Those people were peace-loving Patriots. That's the difference. It has nothing to do with race.”

More people will argue that Robert shouldn’t have been carrying a weapon, but those same people will angrily defend every American’s right under the 2nd Amendment to open carry. They loudly defended Kyle Rittenhouse’s right to carry an AR15. I saw dozens of images of armed, angry white men carrying AR15s and the like at the Michigan Capitol a while back, and none of those people were shot, arrested or even questioned. It’s almost as if the 2nd Amendment only applies to White People.. Where’s the NRA issuing press releases and supporting this man’s right to carry a firearm? (hint: the NRA doesn’t support Black gun ownership) If Robert wasn’t legally allowed to possess a weapon, and he had one, he should have had his day in court. Remember that pesky little phrase, “innocent until proven guilty.”

To most Americans, Black people are disposable; their lives don't matter. Can't you see it's all about White fear and White fragility? This is why mass shooters who are white, have just killed numerous people and are carrying an assault rifle are often arrested completely unharmed, but black men, women and children are simply gunned down by the police. When are people going to understand that the police are programmed and pre-disposed to shoot Black people?

Black people run from the police because they're afraid of getting shot, then they get shot for running away from the police. They get shot for walking away from the police. They get shot for walking toward the police. They get shot for standing. They get shot for sitting. They get shot if they don’t put their hands up, and when they do. They get shot for standing alone, or in groups with others. They get shot if they have a real gun and they get shot if they have a toy gun. They get shot for sitting in their cars, or walking into their own apartments or wearing hoodies or ski masks. They get shot for having gold teeth, or having their hands in their pockets. They get shot for breathing. And if the police don’t feel like wasting bullets, they simply overwhelm and suffocate them, like they did to Eric Garner, George Floyd and Elijah McCain; all textbook examples of law enforcement’s disparate and racist treatment of Black people. These police officers tried, sentenced and executed Robert for being black. The bottom line is that police can justify killing anyone for being black, because White America is afraid of Black people! It's been drilled into us since the days when the first Black man decided to take an all-expenses-paid cruise to the New World on a slave ship.

White people make me sick!

I say “Black Lives Matter” because when they said "ALL MEN ARE CREATED EQUAL", it didn't include Black people.

 I say “Black Lives Matter” because when they said "LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL", it didn't include Black people.

 I say “Blacks Lives Matter” because America still doesn't understand the meaning of "ALL".

And if you don't like it, you can kiss BOTH sides of my Lilly white ass.
