The objectivity paradox
Objectivity is defined as the state of being unbiased and just. The problem is that objectivity is objectively subjective.
Each of us has different experiences and perspectives formed during our lifetimes which create biases in the way we analyze information. This bias is known as subjectivity.
While a very few of us go out of our way to be objective, we are still ruled by our innate subjective biases. Even the best of us like to think we are more objective than we actually are.
We claim to objective, while accusing our opponents of being blatantly subjective. To be completely objective is impossible, because all knowledge is by definition subjective.
Therefore, we cannot simply assume the objectivity of objectivity. The paradox is that to be truly objective, one must understand and acknowledge its subjective nature.
